LAND
OF MILK & HONEY (& MASSAGE!) - "Milk
has been used to soothe and hydrate since Cleopatra's time.
Honey is a cell-regenerator, and hydrator. Sesame oil, used
in Ayurvedic treatments, has great healing properties, and is
one of the best moisturizers." These are terrific bits
of info from Jenna Ward, spa director of Agua, in Miami Beach,
FL.

But merely knowing these facts means next to nothing until you
experience how these ingredients from nature actually work on
your body, such as in the Agua Milk and Honey treatment given
at this upscale spa sanctuary. And even the smell mmmmm!

Brooke,
the massage therapist who gave me this luxurious treatment,
warmed a mixture of organic sesame oil and honey, which
she used as she worked her magic hands to relax my entire
being. The combination of the feel of the oil and honey
on my skin, the massage itself, and the delicious scent
were enough to put me in a semi-conscious state of bliss.
After the massage, a cleansing, nourishing rinse of warm
milk is washed over my body, which removes the stickiness
of the honey and oil. Try something similar at home by
beginning with a gentle dry-brushing of your skin with
a loofah, lightly brushing in a circular motion on elbows
and joints, and straight up and down on other body parts.
Combine a ratio of 1/3 honey to 2/3 organic sesame oil,
place in glass container, and put container into hot water.
You can also place the container on a coffee mug warmer.
After the mixture heats up, shake it to mix, then pour
into hands and begin your massage. (Spa director Jenna
notes, "Always massage towards the heart.")
When that's done, take regular or powdered milk (enough
to cover your whole body) that's already been warmed,
and dip in a cloth or sponge to cleanse residue off of
skin. Pat dry, and follow with your favorite moisturizer.
