WHAT
TO EXPECT - If you've ever thought you'd turn into
an overly pumped WWF wrestler from weight training, rest assured,
women naturally do not have the hormones to become the next
Arnold Schwarzanegger. |

"The
hormonal make up of a woman's body makes her muscle structure
different from a man's," says Virgil Aponte, a New
York health and fitness instructor certified by the American
College of Sports Medicine. "A woman who weight trains
can expect to become more muscular, but the added muscle
will make her leaner and more shapely, not bulky like
men."
An average program will have you training 20 to 40 minutes
a day, three to four times a week, with breaks in between
days for resting. You should train your entire body, working
two to three sets of 15 to 20 repetitions per each exercise,
with every rep being a slow, controlled movement. A difference
in your body's shape and size will be noticeable after
four to six weeks of consistent training.
